All proceeds from Christmas sales will go to Kenedy, Creative Change's sponsored child through World Vision.

International Justice Mission!

Creative Change raised over $100 for the International Justice Mission, a group working to end human trafficking around the world! Last Saturday, November 14th, a group of creative changers watched At the End of Slavery, the new International Justice Mission film. After the film, we had a great conversation about human trafficking and had the chance to respond by purchasing Creative Cards cards and photographs (by Eileen!). Mother's Day!

Celebrate Mother's Day with a gift of change for a community in Lesotho, Africa! All proceeds from the sale of Creative Change Mother's Day packs will go to Action for Africa, a local group that is partnering with a community in Africa to overcome the crises of poverty and HIV/AIDS (www.ActionforAfrica.org).

Each Mother's Day pack comes with eight beautiful cards and eight envelopes and a Mother's Day card for you to write your mom a message in. All you have to do is fill out the card and give your mom the pack of blank greeting cards - it doesn't get much easier than that!

The suggested donation for the card packs is $10.

A New Line for a New Year!

Happy New Year, Creative Changers! As promised in my previous post, Creative Change has come out with a NEW line, the Milestones pack. Just think of how many milestones will happen this year - engagements, births, weddings, graduations, mother's day, valentine's day, birthdays, and many more! Thinking about all the cards you will need to buy for these milestones can be overwhelming, especially when cards usually cost from $3-4 per card - how expensive!

Here's where the Creative Change Milestones pack comes in: for only $14, you get a pack of 8 milestones cards and envelopes. That's only $1.75 per card - what a deal! Each Milestone card has a special feature such as textured paper, embellishments, or 3-Dimensional components, giving each card a unique look.

Thanks to many generous Christmas shoppers, Creative Change raised nearly $400 for Shared Hope International! I've been reading more about the human trafficking industry (in a book called Not for Sale), and am continually shocked at the atrocities that are committed daily around the world. Our New Years campaign will continue to support Shared Hope International. I'm excited for this new line of cards - it's a perfect start to the New Year! (More details will be posted at the end of the week).

I hope to see an end to human trafficking in my lifetime, and I'm so thankful that we can make a small difference through Creative Change.

The AUAP Makes a Creative Change!

While WWU students were off enjoying the snow (and a break from school!), Japanese students from the Asia University America Program gathered to assemble cards for Creative Change! It was the first time volunteers assembled all of the materials I prepared (usually I overshoot it by quite a bit)! We had a great time listening to Christmas music, eating cookies, and, most importantly, putting over 400 beautiful cards together. Thanks to all who participated in our LARGEST card making party ever!

Back in Action

After a long summer hiatus, Creative Change is back in full swing! We've had a card-making party and participated in the Hillcrest Chapel Craft Fair, raising over $100 for the Hillcrest Chapel Adoption Fund (a fund that provides grants to families who are adopting).

I'd been going back and forth about which organization to support for our holiday sales when I learned more about human trafficking from a series my church is doing (check it out at http://www.thesecretweaponproject.org/). This horrendous industry enslaves 27 million people - million! - most of whom are women and children. In response to these heart-breaking statistics, Creative Change will donate it's holiday proceeds to Shared Hope International, a group working to prevent, rescue and restore people from this industry (http://www.sharedhope.org/).
